i am growing paranoid while at the same time welcoming this.

1) "Do you believe the Society is Jehovah's organization?"
2) " Even if something is wrong, are you willing to wait for Jehovah to correct his organization?"

What do you guys think if I just lie to both questions, and answer accordingly so that I tell them what they want to hear?

I would never have thought that the second question could even be worded as such. The first question is the big one though, admittedly. I think I am tired of lies enough already.

Another possiblity? What if I just refuse to answer the questions? Will they see that as non compliance and still drum up a committee?

Thank you all for your kind responses though. I was thinking that I did provide a little too much information about myself though. My age and place of residence is factual. Or is it?

The inevitible and imminent visit that I had hoped was going to be quite a bit further down the road from now has just occurred. I am growing paranoid while at the same time welcoming this. It is a most strange feeling. But now the elders have called me at home and want to have a discussion tomorrow night at the MS. It could be something simple, of course it could be what I really don't want to hear.

Confused and seeking more guidance...

I am also curious, is there any way for them to know that I am visiting this web site?

recently, i have been studying some material that suggests that "satan" in the hebrew is never defined as a rebellious angel, that only comes in revelation (greek) later.

in the ot, satan and yhwh are the same being in certain circumstances.

This is why I think you can prove about any concept you want by reading certain scriptures.

Exactly. However, I don't think with the OT alone, one can prove anything about "Satan" other than what is said in Job about "him". Even there, we have no real way of knowing what it is. Most of the OT use of "Satan" though is directly used to describe things that God is doing, not some rebellious angel. The garden of eden also makes no mention of "Satan" anywhere, yet it is inferred by the soc. I have brought this matter up, and am now guilty of questioning a theological point in my cong.

Time to abandon ship and flee this shit hole organization once and for all. My dream is to open a bar and have a drink called "Jehovah's Witness Killer". It will be straight grain alcohol with a slice of lemon.

In the OT, Satan and YHWH are the same being in certain circumstances. "Satan" means strictly "adversary" and is really in no way a proper name.

1Ch 21:1

And Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

2Sa 24:1 And again the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, Go, number Israel and Judah.

This is of course, describing the exact same event. Another example that the soc often ignores is found in 1 Kings 22:

1Ki 22:19

And Micaiah said, Therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

1Ki 22:20

And Jehovah said, Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner; and another said on that manner.

Christians: Why are we here (earth) in the first place?

another thread here reminded me of something i used to wonder about while i was still an active jw, and haven't really thought about until now that i was reminded of it again.. - this is probably a very banal question, but (the premise comes first):.

-god created a myriad of angels in heaven before he created our universe and earth, right?.

-and - except for those who rebelled - they are all still up there, right?.

Exactly what proof do we have that there are "angels" in the ways men think of them? I think all angels are just an extension of God's being. 1 Kings 22 makes it pretty clear that angels in Heaven are capable of deceitful things in the will of God.

I agree with everything you just said. I had not considered the way the legal department has been run lately. I have been studying the silent lambs websites, and I am just utterly shocked at the extremes they will go to, protecting criminals within, especially sexual deviants, perverts and child molesters as you mentioned.

I guess in today's world, civil liberties have to take a back seat when we have all sorts of violence and terrorists too. I certainly wouldn't want a Muslim extremist arguing in court why he cannot plan how to bomb someone's place of business, and I certainly don't want pedophiles knocking on the door either. My recent girlfriend asked me about the nature of JW's and has heard about the pedophile situation, and she had to ask me (I don't have children) if I was one. Having to answer that is alone in itself a reason to consider making a break for the door from this wicked organization.

Especially if I plan to actually marry and have children some day. The last thing I need is to worry about brother "loves to touch" being near my kids.

This is a great post for more than one reason. It also shows the complete arrogance invovled in the history behind the Old Testament. Surely the Catholic Rosary is similar to what Israel was asked to do by God. This, along with many other attributes of Israelite living are carried over into Catholicism. In my opinion, nothign wrong with it I suppose. Kind of like the fake beards at the assembly. Dressing up like God's people really looked like when they were God's people, to imitate God's people. Dumbfounding, isn't it?

Oh no, don't get me wrong. I know about all the false prophecies, lies, and especially your dead on point about the smugness. But, can their existence (even for outsiders) help the civil liberties we love as Americans? Maybe there would be more supreme court cases if they didn't exist, or were on their way out, as I suspect is the case soon anyway.

Certainly we don't care for the knock at the door though, especially in this strange time we live in. Who knows who is actually knocking.

On the other hand, (not really), isn't trespassing on someone else's private property a violation of the property owner's civil right to liberty? The other day a meat truck passed by here trying to sell steaks. I specifically insisted on prior occasions to be left alone and that I only buy my meat at the local grocer. The irony of arrogance here is so thick I could shoot myself.
